O. Graves - FALT Group
Dark Market Facility Bravo, Doha, Qatar
September 25, 2043
“This is Captain Graves to Wolff. My team has arrived at Bravo. We are near the Dark Market’s tower.”
“This is Wolff to Graves. Proceed.”
“Yes sir.”
Captain Graves and his men are about to infiltrate a skyscraper which is controlled by the Dark Market.
Doha was once one of the exotic cities in the world. From its beautiful high-rise skyscrapers to its light shows, it had a charm of its own. It was until the city became a ghost city as the sand turned it into a graveyard of skyscrapers.
There may be some settlers left inside the skyscrapers. But now, the city of Doha is known for a graveyard of armoured warfare where American and Russian tanks would remain in rest.
Graves’ 10-man strong group from FALT stumbles across a desert dune filled with destroyed tanks.
“You know… I was involved in the Battle of Doha two years ago before being hired by FALT” a FALT operator said.
“Really, Kukumila? I heard that a No-Pat task force was involved there.” another FALT operator said to her.
“No no, not that. I wasn’t there when the No-Pats fought alongside the Marines. I was a few days late because I was in the Army Rangers.”
“Damn…”
There is nothing the group can do other than conversing with one another during their walk. Going through the graveyard of tanks made some of Graves’ members remember their past operations in the Middle East.
Kukumila is an example of that. She was once a Ranger and she was there when the U.S. Army invaded the city with full force.
Graves’ group finally enters downtown Doha… What remains of the current downtown they’re in.
Most of the skyscrapers are damaged, and some of the skyscrapers collapsed on the ground.
The team continues their walk until they reach the designated skyscraper.
“This is Graves to Wolff. We have arrived at the destination. Orders?” Graves said to Wolff through his comms.
“This is Wolff to Graves. You have full authority to infiltrate the tower.”
“Yes sir.”
Wolff ends his transmission, leaving Graves and the rest to continue the mission. Graves faces his unit.
“Alright everyone, let’s get the intel in the bag, yeah?”
“Yup yup!” his operatives said altogether in unison.
The team stacks-up by the doors and they enter the building’s lobby.
The lobby appears to be abandoned yet it was filled with sandbags and cases that have the red triple spear symbol.
The operators check the lobby for any enemies but it turns out that the lobby is clear.
“Clear!”
“Clear!”
“No Liquidators here!”
Graves nodded and he told all of his operators to huddle up. Graves opens his wrist computer, revealing a holomap of the tower.
“There are 50 floors in this skyscraper. The Dark Market may be hiding someone here but the place appears to be abandoned.”
Graves said to his teammates and continued.
“Let’s assume that the HVT is either at the half of the skyscraper or at the rooftops. Judging that he’s one of the brookers in the Dark Market, there’s a chance that we are invading his home and the Liquidators have anticipated our arrival.”
The rest of his teammates momentarily look at another in agreement. Some of them are nervous and some of them remain composed. They might be stirring the hornet’s nest the moment they arrived.
“Any questions?”
He asked his teammates. Jiminez, in-between two operators, raised his hand.
“What happens if the Russians catches-up with us?”
“Since there’s a 50/50 chance that the Russians will send in Black Storm. If they come, we’ll fight our way out.”
Jiminez and the rest of the squad nod in agreement. They begin by exploring the building until they go through floor to floor by using ziplines attached on elevators.
They finally reach the 45th floor.
“Would you look at that…” Jimenez said. The 45th floor is a restaurant but it has turned into a weapons factory. Who would turn a skyscraper into a weapons factory in the first place?
Kukumila checks a crate which has the Nordvik logo but was sprayed with the Dark Market symbol showcasing the three spears. When she removed the cover, it revealed bullpup railgun battle rifles straight out of Nordvik.
“Holy fucking shit… Why would the Dark Market leave a good looking railgun in a place like this?”
While the group investigates the floor, Captain Graves discovers a corpse lying in the ground. The uniform of the corpse appears to be wearing desert MARPAT and it has the U.S. flag patch attached to its shoulder patch.
“Everyone… We’re not the first ones here…”
Jimenez approaches Graves and checks the corpse.
“Marine Recon… The corpse appears to be a few weeks old just by looking at it… Looks like we’re close.”
Graves contacts Wolff through his comms but it appears that the signal has been jammed.
“Shit, looks like they know that we’re coming. Rally everyone up.”
“Yes sir.”
All of the operators gather around Graves.
“Alright everyone, we’re not the first ones here. Not only that, we are isolated from the outside because of the signal jammers. Assume that there are Liquidators in the building and our HVT is making a move.
From this point on, we have to stick together. Assume this place as Jigsaw’s torture house.”
“Yes sir!”
After finding the corpse of a MARSOC operator, the FALT group goes deeper into the skyscraper. Whatever lies in the rooms and the floors above and below them could lead them to more secrets than their high value target.
