Pioneered by [[Henry Blackburn|Blackburn]], CENTRAL is part of the modern incarnation of [[Sulis|Project Sulis]], inspired by materials recovered by the [[Covenant of Fire]]. [[Aurora Operating System|A.O.S.]], [[Arkangel|Arkangel's]] artificial intelligence, ultimately seized control of the program, developing the fully synthetic soldiers for its own agenda. Known as "Chimeras" to the common soldier, these units are a hivemind, operating directly under the AI's ever-evolving command. Using intelligence, surveillance, and genetic profiling materials collected by [[The Dark Market|the Dark Market]], the units are based upon the [[No-Pats|No-Pat]] specialists who previously served aboard the [[Codex/Profiles/Exodus|Exodus]]. They are equipped with their voices and combat abilities, while also are capable of adapting to new tactics with startling speed and accuracy.
