The purpose of their deployment in the region was to secure a train route vital for their war effort. With [[Nova Group]] granted operational control, the mission was proving successful. When an encrypted transmission alerted U.S. intelligence to enemy movements in the region, a reformed Tombstone Squad headed by [[Codex/Specialists/Maria Falck|Specialist Falck]] was sent in under Colonel Greenland's orders. Their mission was to link up with an embedded militia called the [[Moravian Guard]] and locate the transmission's source. On the night of an important shipment, a devastating strike by the Moravian Guard and Tombstone Squad sabotaged the tracks and derailed the train. As attacks continued, Nova Group fought to maintain their position but could not secure the cargo, resulting in the deployment of [[Arkangel Legion]] to recover the consignment of cerium that intel revealed was bound for an undisclosed location in Scotland. With the Eastern Forces' offensive exposed, the U.S. mobilized their military in a counterstrike as both sides waged war in the Battle of Zlín.
