So now you contribute to ours."[^1] - Thousand Petals Coalition "Our fight is with all of those who wish to silence our voice. You will listen." - Thousand Petals Coalition "We're not here to speculate over the Coalition's rapid ascension, there's been plenty of leaked documentation to suggest this initiative was well-organized and years in the making."[^2] - Reed "I have no sympathy for the Thousand Petals Coalition's agenda. They claimed they were like the No-Pats, forgotten and abandoned. We never carried anger like this."[^3] - Angel "The Thousand Petals Coalition speak for the nations the superpowers choose to ignore. We will make our voices heard and you will listen."[^4] - Nayomi "The formation of the Thousand Petals Coalition is what happens when we deprive those nations what others freely possess. They feel they have no choice but to fight for their existence."[^5] - Oz <br> ### Description The formation of the Thousand Petals Coalition was quietly in development for years, started by separatist groups from nations across Asia. They were brought together by one singular mission: reestablishing their countries' role in the ever-shifting geopolitical landscape, one which they believed had left them behind entirely. Representatives would later publicly argue their anger was not without warrant, pointing to the fact that nearly every nation in the Coalition had been denied access to the Shearwater weather satellites. A new world was forming and they were categorically unable to contribute. Between 2044 and 2046, this secretive group grew to include resistance militias from nations across Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and South America. In closed-doors sessions, they argued their ability to contribute to the new world was dependent on their uniting to ensure each of their nations survived. As their membership expanded so did their anger, which led to an evolution of their dogma. Contributing to the new world transformed into leading it; after all, what right did the existing powers have to decide their fate? The [[No-Pats]] had proven with [[Namaqualand]] they could exist outside the United States and Russian influence; why could they not do the same? It was time to show the world it could transcend beyond old borders and political restrictions. In 2045, the Sovereign Conclave was formed. A leadership council with a member from each country, they would decide the path forward to build the future anew, in their image. What happened next would appear initially random to the greater world: one by one, the separatist groups initiated coups within their countries. These were coordinated efforts where each group would support another, whether financially or militarily, to ensure the coup's success and that power would be maintained in the aftermath. Financial backing from an additional, unidentified source assisted in filling the monetary gaps for struggling nations. When they announced their formation in late 2048, it appeared seemingly organic: a natural evolution as result of each nation's individual political upheaval. The Sovereign Conclave chose the name "Thousand Petals Coalition," a reference to the Thousand Petals Lotus flower and a symbol of supreme consciousness and spiritual enlightenment. They'd become enraptured with their own doctrine and believed they were humanity's path to transcendence through force. For their flag, they chose a lotus flower about to bloom with three petals, representing their hopes for their prosperous future. The alliance with Russian forces, one of the very superpowers they were challenging, raised eyebrows in many member states. For the Sovereign Conclave, it was always an opportunity: infiltrate and consume the Russian forces from within. It would take decades, but the Coalition knew that with patience they would flourish over the next hundred years. One day, the three-petaled lotus flower would bloom.
