Your objective is to create our future."[^2] - Blackburn "A.O.S. is not a person, it's a machine."[^5] - Nilsson <br> ### Description The Aurora Operating System (A.O.S.) is the reactive, intelligent core AI empowering the [[Geist|synthetic soldiers]] inside the [[Boreas]] bunker. Named for Aôs/Aurora, Boreas' mother and goddess of dawn/ascendant sun, this AI controls the testing environments, locks, and other automated security measures throughout the facility. Its most important feature is devouring combat data and fusing it back into Project: Pallas, the program dedicated to developing tactics for a synthetic army. The latter was considered deeply risky by Boreas' [[Codex/Organizations/Nordvik|Nordvik]] founder, but when control of the company was transferred to [[Henry Blackburn]], he allowed A.O.S. more freedom, hoping to accelerate the project to a new level. He got his wish. With time, A.O.S.' enhanced evolution has made the synthetics cunning, aggressive, and harder to control, eventually resulting in an incident inside the bunker where several laboratory technicians were killed by soldiers who had feigned being in need of repair. Surviving members of [[Unit 86]] - experimented-on No-Pats - immediately revolted and began to tear the facility apart from the inside out. Now A.O.S. rules alone in the middle of the lab, attempting to repair and replicate the synthetic soldiers while members of [[Boreas Containment Services]] and [[Ascension Company]] surge from the outside to try and shut the facility down for good.
