![[falck.png]] *Added to the Codex on* ***August 29th, 2023*** --- ### Quotes “If I have the chance to find my son, no matter how small, I will take it. Surely you understand?”[^1] - Falck “Zain is a good, sensible man. But seeing him, how young he is, reminds me that my generation didn’t stop this war. What has all our bloodshed accomplished?”[^1] - Falck “What would I do without Maria? Bleed out, probably. We’re both old heads, but fighting side by side with Falck, I can hold out at least another decade.”[^2] - Irish
### Description Growing up, Falck was driven to study medicine after watching her father lose his battle with cancer. The early 2000’s conflicts in the Middle East curtailed her education, causing her to enlist in the German Army where she trained as a combat medic. After tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan, she returned home and was assigned to the Rapid Forces Division where she took part in many joint missions with European allies. Despite a highly decorated career, Falck decided to retire from the army and finish her studies. She eventually graduated to become a respected trauma surgeon in one of Cologne’s most prestigious hospitals. Single but eager to start a family, Falck underwent IVF to have a child. Her chances of success were low, but she persevered and after numerous rounds over many months she finally conceived and gave birth to her son, David. Happy and fulfilled in her life and career, she could only watch as the rest of the world sunk into chaos. She did her best to shield her son from the unfolding horror of war and environmental devastation, but when Germany collapsed, she had no choice but to teach her child how to protect himself. At 18, David joined one of Germany’s few remaining militia forces. Despite her fears, Falck gave her blessing as her son fought to rebuild his country. But two years into his deployment, he was reported missing in action. Distraught, Falck refused to believe David was dead and finding him became her only goal. She spent any money she had following leads and paying for information, but it was hopeless. That was until she received an anonymous communication that David was alive. The source was [[No-Pats|Non-Patriated]]. Falck’s only hope of locating him meant joining the No-Pats. There was intel a No-Pat ship named the [[Codex/Profiles/Exodus|Exodus]] was currently traveling the Rhine - rumor had it they were recruiting. Falck knew a ship like that could always use a surgeon.
**Key Dates** 1984 - Born in Cologne, Germany. 2005 - at 21, studies medicine at the University of Munster. 2008 - at 24, enlists in the German Army. 2017 - at 33, retires from the army and becomes a trauma surgeon. 2020 - at 36, undergoes IVF to have a child. 2022 - at 38, gives birth to a son, David. 2035 - at 51, stays and helps Germany after its collapse. 2040 - at 56, receives news David is MIA. 2041 - at 57, searches for her missing son. 2042 - at 58, joins the Exodus as one of its most experienced soldiers.
