As the city underwent mass evacuation, Sundance was moved to a large children’s home in Lyon. Growing up was a traumatic period for them, not only dealing with issues of identity but also navigating the shifting power struggles between the other children. As they reached their late teens, Sundance fell in with the local Le Milieu after a confrontation with a nightclub bouncer showcased their abilities as a fighter. The criminal family took Sundance into their care, teaching them to provide security for the organization’s smuggling ops. For the first time in their life, Sundance found something they were good at and they excelled at their job. During the transportation of a cargo container from Tunisia, the ship encountered a violent storm and was forced to dock before reaching its destination. Upon assessing the ship’s damage, Sundance discovered the vessel was harboring several dozen terrified migrants in the process of being trafficked. It was a line Sundance wasn’t prepared to cross: they had to act. After subduing their fellow gang members and releasing the prisoners, Sundance fled knowing full well a contract would be put on their life. They hid by joining the Armée de Terre where their talents in combat were immediately recognized. On the battlefield, it became obvious their prowess and fearless attitude far exceeded other soldiers’. They were assigned to the Airborne division and relished the exhilaration of jumping from aircraft and freefalling hundreds of meters into battle. As [[Baltic Firestorms|fires raged across the Baltic region]], causing instability across Europe, France experienced food shortages and civil unrest. When the government recalled all military personnel to help contain the national conflict, Sundance feared reprisals and vanished once again, this time into the ranks of the [[No-Pats|Non-Patriated]]. The movement was always in need of soldiers. Lucky for them, Sundance never turns down a fight. <br> **Key Dates** 2011 - Born in Paris, France 2014 - at 3, loses parents when a nuclear device is triggered in Paris. 2024 - at 13, grows up in a children’s home in Lyon. 2028 - at 17, becomes a member of Le Milieu 2034 - at 23, betrays their bosses and has a contract put out on them. 2035 - at 24, joins the Armée de Terre 2037 - at 26, advances to the Airborne division. 2041 - at 30, flees France and joins the ranks of the Non-Patriated.
